Parent Mentor Program

Friendship House has been selected to run the Parent Mentor Program here in Peoria.  We received a grant for $50,000 to place parents in 4 classrooms at 2 different District 150 schools. This program has been in the Chicago area for 25 years and boasts amazing results in the classrooms where it exists. The Chicago Consortium of School Research says that "parental involvement" is one of the 5 Essential components for school improvement. This program gets parents directly involved in the education system, and we look forward to seeing the direct impact this program will make on the 4 Peoria classrooms throughout the school year.
